Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 10 new Vande Bharat trains today, boosting the total count to over 50 and extending coverage to 45 routes across the country. These trains, part of the Indian Railways' initiative, operate on electrified broad gauge networks, enhancing connectivity between various states and districts.
Expansion and enhancements
Six routes will now have two Vande Bharat trains operating, including popular destinations like Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, and Mumbai-Ahmedabad. The addition of new routes such as Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad further expands the network, facilitating seamless travel for passengers.

In addition to launching new services, PM Modi also flagged off extensions for four existing Vande Bharat trains. These extensions aim to enhance connectivity to key destinations, with routes like Ahmedabad-Jamnagar, Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Gorakhpur-Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod being extended to cater to more passengers.
Among cities, Delhi emerges as the primary hub for Vande Bharat trains, with 10 trains terminating in the capital. This extensive network connects Delhi to various destinations including Dehradun, Amb Andaura, Bhopal, Ayodhya, and Amritsar, contributing to improved accessibility and convenience for travelers.
City distribution and future plans
Following Delhi, Mumbai hosts six dedicated Vande Bharat trains, with services to destinations like Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Chennai boasts five trains, and plans are underway to launch the second Vande Bharat train for Mysuru, further strengthening connectivity across the country.
